Marian Rivera, Bong Revilla and other Kapuso stars will grace Independence Day events in the U.S. and Canada

"In celebration of the country’s 115th Independence Day, GMA Network—through its international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International—partners up with different Filipino-American and Filipino-Canadian groups and communities in commemorating this memorable occasion.

"Touted to be the biggest Filipino event outside the Philippines, gathering an average of 80,000-100,000 people, The Philippine Independence Day Celebration in New York is slated on June 2nd along Madison Avenue. Filipino-American New Yorkers are in for an all-day event which includes a Grand Parade, a Cultural Festival and a Street Fair featuring delectable Filipino food and unique merchandise.

"No less than Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera and Kapuso heartthrob Rafael Rosell from the hit teleserye Temptation of Wife, multi-platinum recording artist Julie Anne San Jose, and “Indio" himself, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., will grace the occasion. This event is organized by the Philippine Independence Day Council, Inc.

"In California, the state with the largest population of Filipino-Americans, there would be two commemorative events. Happening first is the Philippine Cultural Committee (PCC)’s Pista sa Nayon in Vallejo on June 1. Approximately 40,000-50,000 people are expected to go to this event, which will also be attended by Kapuso stars Dennis Trillo and Glaiza de Castro.

"Dennis and Glaiza will also grace the Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival on June 8th and 9th, organized by the Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington (FCHSW) in Seattle. The annual event has been held in Seattle Center since its inception in 1987.

"Over in Carson City in California, the Philippine Independence Day Foundation (PIDF) will hold its 15th Carson Independence Day Celebration in Veterans Park on June 8th. Joining their Balikatan sa Pag-Unlad festivities are Marian Rivera and Rafael Rosell.

"Not to be left behind, the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF) and Philippine Chambers of Commerce Toronto (PCCT) will celebrate the Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on June 22nd. Kapuso stars Dennis Trillo, Rafael Rosell and Glaiza de Castro will be performing. This event is described as an all-day entertainment and trade show that would have an expected 12,000 attendees.

"GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International are very proud partners of these events that evoke deep Filipino pride; with the Kapuso network being the leading source of outstanding Filipino entertainment that showcases and tells of the very best about the country’s history—epicseryes Amaya and Indio are epitomes.

"GMA International always makes it a point to participate in and support key Filipino events all over the globe. It aims to bring our kababayans abroad closer to home by reigniting in them that strong sense of being a Filipino. Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia said “GMA Network is once again pleased to partner with various Filipino community organizations for Philippine Independence Day celebrations in different parts of the world. This year, our participation is anchored on the theme 'Proud to be Pinoy!' in recognition of our countrymen’s pride for our nationhood, culture and history.”

"GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International can be seen in the US and in countries in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia Pacific."
